When I returned to California in 2003, I became an Instructor for
California Pacific Medical Center's Newborn Connections, where I teach Newborn Parenting. I also offer the same class (in a shorter format) at two Kaiser locations, in Marin and Petaluma. Beginning in 2005, I am offering
the Newborn Care course privately as well.
Upon my return to the Bay Area, I also took a position with
College of Marin, working for the Foster & Kinship Care Education Program. I co-facilitate a series for Kincare Providers in Marin County, people that are within the foster care system
because they are raising relatives (granchildren, nieces, nephews). We meet monthly for support and education, and I
am proud to be affiliated with such an amazing group of caregivers. My work with them provides a balance to my immersion
in the world of birth, and reminds me of why we do this work; children matter, and the more love and support we can offer
them, the better our world will be.
I continue to work as a Postpartum Doula. My studies of midwifery,
my teaching of newborn care, and my work with foster families, all inform and guide my presence as a Doula. I am honored
to be a part of your lives during such an intensely personal and wondrous time, and feel deeply blessed to do
the work that I do.
{Please note:
I am currently taking only Postpartum Clients. If you are
seeking a Birth Doula, please refer to my Resource
page for links to local and national doula lists, and please let
me know if I can be of any further assistance.}
As a Postpartum Doula, my experiences and
skills include:
